What's going on?

Hi everyone! I'm Smileypeacefun aka. Joel. I'm an escape room enthusiast, gamemaster, blogger, and puzzle designer. And this is my first free online escape room game!
Since I currently can't afford to build my own escape room, I thought "why not turn all my ideas into an online point-and-click escape game?!" It's completely free to play! Please read the guidelines before playing. And have a ton of fun!

How to play?

Play this game on your laptop or PC. This game does NOT work on mobile devices (phones, tablets). You need to be able to click/hover over objects (allow pop-ups/hovering texts).
Normally, Google Chrome (which the game was designed on) is the recommended browser to play in. But it's really unpredictable. Sometimes it works perfectly, and sometimes it causes major graphic glitches. If you run into any weirdly shifted graphics that you can't click on, try to change the browser you play in (for example Windows Edge should work too).
Adblockers can also cause graphic malfunctions. If you use one, turn it off while playing.
You'll see a little banner at all times telling you that this site was created with "Wix.com". Don't let it annoy you. Since the game was created with their free tools, the banner is not removable.
Installing a painting tool in your browser is highly suggested. It allows you to draw on any website which will help you with quite a few puzzles. As an alternative, you can have a pen and paper ready to take notes.
This is a game, where you click your way through different puzzles and objects. Everything will happen on this website, so you'll never need to visit any other website or manipulate the URL.
You will face objects that are locked. If you click on those, you'll need to enter a code. Codes can be letters or numbers. For letters: Solutions are case sensitive, which means capital letters and lower case letters make a difference. Always double-check the puzzles to see if your solution should be all capital letters or lower case letters.
You can play solo or with your friends. If you play as a team on multiple devices, everyone needs to enter the codes individually to see what's locked behind it.
The entire game is split into four chapters. Each chapter has a playtime of approx. 1-2 hours. People who haven't played escape games before or don't want to speedrun through it, maybe take more than 2 hours per chapter. Folks who are experienced or play in teams, maybe solve chapters in under 1 hour. It's all up to you! There's no time limit, so play at your own pace.
The game has an advanced difficulty level. In each chapter, there is a page called "Help and Solutions". It will help you if you need a little push in the right direction or you don't know how to solve a particular puzzle.
